Cicero’s 5 Canons of persuasion:

Invention:
- Identify the question at issue
- Is the issue simple or complex?
- Can I break it down into smaller parts?
- What are the counter arguments?
- What do I want to accomplish?
- Change mood, mind or motivation?
- Who is my audience?
- How can I use logos, ethos, pathos?
Arrangement:
- Edit your ideas
- Put everything in order
- Intro
- Narration
- Proof
- Refutation
- Conclusion
Delivery
- Delivery is deemed the most important thing. Mediocre speech but excellent delivery will always win over a good speech with bad delivery.
