# Basic Circuit Laws

We can sometimes combine circuit elements together to simplify the circuit.

### Resistor In Series

$R_{eq}=R_{1}+R_{2}+⋯+R_{n}$

### Resistor In Parallel

$R_{eq}1 =R_{1}1 +R_{2}1 +⋯+R_{n}1 $

### Voltage Division

Provide a shortcut for finding the individual voltage across each resistor, when they are connected in *series*.

### Current Division

We use current division when resistors are connected in parallel, so the voltage is the same everywhere.
