Classical Ciphers
Classical Ciphers were used historically, but are nowadays very simple to break with modern technology.
Classical Ciphers are mainly concerned with encryption using linguistic and lexicographic patterns. This however, can be pretty easily broken into today using [[Frequency Analysis]].
We can divide Classical Ciphers into 2 categories,Substitution and Transposition ciphers.
Substitution Cipher
- Monoalphebetic Cipher
- Caesar Cipher - Used by Romans
- Polyalphabetic Cipher
- Polygraphic Cipher → Substitution on a group of lettters
Transposition Cipher
- Scytale Cipher - Used by the Greeks
