Devil’s Advocate
I think I really think from the perspective of Devil’s advocate a lot of time. Ruby pointed this out.
This is sort of contrary to Idealism.
Serena pointed out of these really negative interactions with my friend, about how he is so skeptical, to the point where it is delusional. In many ways, that is me. And it can rub people off really bad.
- People want to feel supported, they want to feel like you believe in that, but there is that nature in me to be skeptic at first
The skeptic mindset is there to protect you. To not get scammed. Because there are so many scammers in this society.
But then, you can say that there are a lot of factors that are out of your control, that you have no information on. And that skepticism actually harms you.
- It’s like if you meet a person and the first thing you try to figure out is whether or not they have bad intentions. That will come off in the wrong way. Sure, it can protect you.
The key still is to think positively, but always be prepared for the worst. But how do you do that?
