European Union (EU)
Do all countries that are part of the EU have to use euros?
No, consider Denmark, which has been part of the EU since 1973, yet uses the Danish Krone as their local currency. In total, seven EU countries don’t use the euro:
- Bulgaria
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Hungary
- Poland
- Romania
- Sweden.
In these countries, visitors from the eurozone still need to exchange money before they travel.
