This guy singlehandly made me understand how quant trading companies work. They make the most money when the market panics, because that is when the market is the most inefficient.

There are 2 guys:

1. The guy panicking and wanting to sell everything because everything is dipping. He’s selling his stocks at a lower price than they should
2. The guy who sees big opportunity. He’s overpaying the price of the stocks, hoping to get his hands on some stocks

These quant companies are in-between.
