Goal Disillusionment
Goal disillusionment is idea of something (being a famous YouTuber) feels exciting, but the process to get there feels empty or not worth the cost.
Or like when Kyle Vedder complained about fat people.
Being a YouTuber is 90% grinding, 10% fame. If the process isn’t fulfilling, the result won’t be either.
What’s dangerous is being stuck in between:
- Wanting to be remembered, but not wanting to suffer for it.
- Wanting meaning, but not enjoying the process.
- Wanting validation, but not knowing from whom or why.
