# Number Sets

$N⊊Z⊊Q⊊R⊊C$ We started with natural number, denoted $N$. Then, we realized that there are negative numbers, so we used $Z$. The rational numbers $Q$ because we sometimes shared things, such as 1/4 of a cow to eat.

However, there existed some numbers that couldn’t be represented, such as the solution to $x_{2}=2$, so we can up with $R$. That still wasn’t enough, so we came up with $C$ to include solutions of equations like $x_{2}=−1$.
