Overton Window

Learned about this through a Vox video and then discussing it with Ella Waxman a bit later.

The Overton window (also known as window of discourse) is the range of policies politically acceptable to the mainstream population at a given time.

When Trump came in, the overton window grew. Suddenly, what was once extremist became the new normal again. And that is why sometimes I believe radical ideas are necessary to redefine the new “normal”.
