A parametric equation is a way of defining a mathematical expression where each variable is a function of one or more independent parameters.

Typical Form: $x=f(t),y=g(t)$

It is called “parametric” because it uses parameters to define coordinates, offering a more flexible representation than traditional equations.

Parametric function of a circle:

$\{\begin{array}{l}x=r\cos (t)\\ y=r\sin (t)\end{array}$ The implicit equation is $x^2+y^2=1$.
