Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a heterogeneous collection of psychotic disorders characterized by severe disruptions to normal thought processes, perception, behaviour and emotion. It is by far one of the most debilitating forms of mental illness, affecting just under 1% of the population worldwide.
Symptoms of Schizophrenia
The DSM makes a distinction between Negative Symptoms (those that reflect behavioural deficits) and Positive Symptoms (those that reflect behavioural excesses or peculiarities).
