Slamtec LiDAR

I used this at Enlighted. Also played with at NVIDIA.

These are pretty terrible LiDARs.

cd ~/sw_lab_robotics/ros2_ws
. install/setup.bash
ros2 launch sllidar_ros2 sllidar_s1_launch.py serial_port:=/dev/ttyUSB1

Seems to run at 10hz.

I remember that at Enlighted I used this repo https://github.com/CreedyNZ/rplidar_ros2/tree/ros2 instead, because the other repo wasn’t working for me on ROS Galactic.

They also have this repo??? https://github.com/Slamtec/rplidar_ros

  • this looks the same as sllidar_ros2.
  • I guess it’s less big, and you don’t have to check out to ros2 branch?
