Annealing
This is a concept in Materials Science.
Annealing is performed by heating the material (generally until glowing) for a while and then slowly letting it cool to room temperature in still air.
This restores the Ductility lost from the piece of metal after we have worked on it (by, for example, hammering it into a particular shape).
