Cerebral Cortex
The cerebral cortex is the outer layer of the forebrain, organized into four lobes.
- Frontal lobe
- motor cortex: movement
- premotor cortex: planning movement
- prefrontal cortex: executive functions, planning, inhibition, working memory, strategy
- Parietal lobe: spatial processing, attention, body sensation
- Occipital lobe: vision
- Temporal lobe: auditory processing, memory-related functions

The cortex is also lateralized across hemispheres, and certain functions live in specific regions (Localization of Function).
