Importance vs. Priority?

The SE350 teacher makes the distinction between importance and priority.

• No distinction in regular OS, but if you get into RTOS (for safety-critical systems), you will need to worry about this
• In regular OS, tasks are scheduled by priority.
• RTOS must ensure that high-importance tasks, especially those critical for safety, are handled promptly and reliably, which may involve overriding normal priority levels.
