WATonomous Onboarding
You don’t have to do this onboarding, but this is foundational engineering knowledge to thrive at WATonomous. You’ll realize that you need to know this stuff anyways:
- Docker go through the links I put.
- Be able to create your own docker compose files, docker containers and Dockerfile.
- ROS2 Be very good with it. It’s how we have different parts of the car communicate with each other. We run ROS2 packages inside docker containers.
Perception in the AV industry nowadays is very focused on using ML models. Don’t waste your time looking at every new architecture that’s come out. It’s cool out of interest, but takes a lot of time. This is a long-term goal. Short-term goal: focus on getting really good at implementation and integration.
