AC Circuit Analysis

Here’s the general procedure:

  1. Convert circuit form time-domain into phasor-domain by:
    1. Replacing all currents and voltages by their Phasor form
    2. Replace all elements by their Impedance
  2. Solve circuit in phasor domain
    1. For this you just need to do lots of practice. Some times
  3. Convert result from phasor back into time-domain
title: Tips for Step #2
Since everything is in phasor domain, make sure to just review the algebra for imaginary numbers.

Everything being solved in phasor domain makes life super easy.

Some Algebra Reminders on Imaginary Numbers

Use the right form depending on whether or not you want to do +- or */.
