Transistor

Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT)

Composed of three layers: Emitter (E), Base (B), and Collector (C).

Has two major types:

  • NPN (most common): Majority carriers are electrons
  • PNP: Majority carriers are holes.

Used in amplification, switching, and signal processing.

I never really understood how a transistor works. Good thing Ben Eater has a video teaching it

  • n-type semiconductor
