The conclusion is the claim an Argument is trying to establish, supported by its premises. It must be Truth-Apt.
Conclusion indicators: therefore, thus, hence, so, consequently, it follows that, this proves that.
Strength of support
- In a valid deductive argument, true premises guarantee the conclusion
- In a cogent ampliative argument, true premises only make the conclusion rationally believable
