Wernicke’s Area

Wernicke’s area is a region in the temporal lobe (left hemisphere) associated with language comprehension. Named after Carl Wernicke.

Damage

Causes Wernicke’s Aphasia: speech stays fluent but becomes meaningless, and comprehension is badly impaired.
